University mourns death of student athlete

MOURNING — More than 350 students, faculty, staff and friends gathered Tuesday at the Christ the King Chapel on the campus of the Franciscan University of Steubenville for a candlelight vigil for Kelly Roggensack who was killed Tuesday in a vehicle accident and six university cross country team members who were injured in the crash. -- Ron Smith

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — The president of the Franciscan University of Steubenville said the fatal accident Tuesday that claimed the life of a sophomore member of the school’s cross country team, “is a very tough way to begin the new school year.”





“But,” the Rev. Terence Henry, TOR, said, “we just know that God would want us to press on, to carry on and do the best we can under these tragic conditions.”
