Bears to play Rebels
CHARLESTON — He got what he wanted. Oak Glen girls basketball coach Phil Rujak really only wanted one thing after his Golden Bears dispatched Ritchie County a week ago to ensure another trip to the West Virginia Class AA State Tournament. “We just don’t want to be playing the 5:30 game, because that is the No. 1 seed against the No. 8 seed. So, we don’t want to play that one,” he said after the 50-39 victory. “We’ll play any other game and we don’t care which one.” Hello, 9:30 a.m. Wednesday when Oak Glen will take its 16-8 record and sixth-seed in the tournament against No. 3 Tolsia (19-6). “Be careful what you wish for,” Rujak said with a laugh. “It’s not as bad as it seems. We usually practice pretty early on Saturday’s and we went in Saturday at 8 a.m. “They they didn’t like it. I didn’t like it either. But, we don’t have to sit around all day wondering what we’re going to do. We just have to get up and go play.
