Perhaps if the city of Weirton stopped paying overtime to the firefighters when they don't have to by state code they would have money to pay for the needed services. It is a simple fix--change the work schedule and cut out the overtime--problem solved. The fire chief should be responsible enough to take this action but won't--is his affiliation with the union the reason why? Why won't the city manager stand up for what is right for the residents and make the necessary changes?

For all cities and should have been done years ago. While they spend money tearing down buildings in Chester and buying property in beech bottom through their funding of the BDC, they continue to stick it to citizens of Weirton. Weirton doesn't have the funds to supports itself let alone funding agencies that are improving other areas is terrible, And I saw a new Lincoln with city plates the other day, anyone else see that?
