If a letter coming in the mail scares you and you boss, you both have bigger issues. Still you dont seem to care that the specific cause of this deadly letter is the city administration going from "strong financial position" to a $1,800,000 deficit with no explanation how other than increase taxes on businesses for services, some of which the city cant even provide. Refocusvyour outrage to the cause.

So if that's not enough of a reason to 'harshly' attack the chamber in my comments then I don't know what else there could be!!! If someone tried to scare you like that I'm sure you'd react the same way.

Kondik didn't send an email to my boss to give to me and scare me about my job. The CHAMBER did. I don't like paying ANY taxes or fees, who does???????? I pay enough and I sure as heck don't like having my job threatened over something I didn't do by somebody that I don't even WORK FOR!

Hammerhead - still at it I see, blaming others for your incompetency. Its not the Chambers fault your city is failing. Why are you not outraged at Mayor Kondik? he stood in front of all the citizens at the State of the City claiming strong financial position, not almost $2,000,000 in the red in less than a year. You must be one of the current councilmen with your harsh attack of the Chamber, and you've narrowed it down easily being that only 2 of you have bosses that aren't in the city government.

You know what's disinhearting Brenda Mull? That you scared my boss who then scared me about my job when my boss isn't even going to be touched by any tax due to his revenue coming in below $500 grand. He had no idea, way to keep your members informed with the truth-Fearmongerer!

Good point, Protect. No increase in fees or taxes should be made until other cost savings measures are exhausted. It is hard to take when you know you are going to be paying more taxes and such, along with increases in day to day expenses, such as your own health care. Meanwhile, the city continues to pay the full premiums for their employees health care, as well as paying their entire deductible. They are also wasting money in the fire department by paying overtime to the firemen, when a simple change in a work schedule would eliminate that cost, allow for better fire protection, and cut down on the legacy costs associated with hiring more employees in that area. It is interesting that this plan was devised by a councilperson rather than our city manager, who is getting paid a hefty salary to do the same thing that this group just did. Sounds like she didn't earn her money this month.

interesting that there have been no City Administration cost cutting measures, just service cuts and tax increases - why aren't they sharing in these sacrifices they are imposing on the businesses and citizens?
