Camp Fire USA awards four WoHeLo honors

Camp Fire USA recently presented the WoHeLo Award to four local girls.

The WoHeLo Award is the highest award presented by Camp Fire USA and is earned by a dedicated few who demonstrate a commitment to Camp Fire USA and who complete numerous community service projects over several years.

The WoHeLo Award winners are Kaitlyn Hawkins, Michelle McDonald, Kiley Radeski and Megan Stivason, all members of a Camp Fire USA?club in New Cumberland.

WoHeLo Award recipients are among the most dedicated and hardest working of the Camp Fire membership. This award has stood for high achievement since its inception in 1962. The word WoHeLo stands for Work, Health and Love.

Kaitlyn Hawkins is a junior at Oak Glen High School and has been a member of Camp Fire USA for 12 years.

For the past four years she has attended mission trips with the Point Pleasant United Methodist Church of New Cumberland, where she is an active member, and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.

Hawkins is a member of the varsity volleyball team, the National Honor Society and Key Club.

She plans to pursue a career in nursing and is the daughter of Linda and Bruce Hawkins.

Michelle McDonald is a junior at Oak Glen High School and has been a Camp Fire USA member for 12 years.

She also attended mission trips with the Point Pleasant United Methodist Church and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.

McDonald is a member of the varsity volleyball team and the National Honor Society.

She is a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and plans to pursue a career in physical therapy. She is the daughter of Anita and Scott McDonald.

Kiley Radeski is a junior at Oak Glen High School and has been a member of Camp Fire USA for 12 years.

This past year she attended a mission trip with the Point Pleasant United Methodist Church.

Kiley is a member of the varsity soccer team, the National Honor Society and Key Club.

Upon graduation she plans to attend Fairmont State College. She is the daughter of Rhonda and Stanley Radeski.

Megan Stivason is a junior at Oak Glen High School and has been a Camp Fire USA member for 11 years.

Last year she attended a mission trip with Point Pleasant United Methodist Church and was selected to attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership program at West Virginia State College.

She is a member of the National Honor Society and plans to pursue a career in elementary education. She is the daughter of Suzanne and Jeff Stivason.
