VIRTUE, Doris Eloise, 76, of Weirton, W.Va., died Sunday, October 12, 2008, in Weirton Medical Center, Weirton. She was born January 27, 1932, in Wylieville, W.Va., a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Gambill Palmer She was a lifetime member of Weirton Heights PTA; and through the years Doris had been active with the Weir High Band Parents and the Salvation Army. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. “Pete” Virtue, whom she married in Weirton, on September 2, 1952, and who passed away on April 22, 2003. Surviving are three daughters, Kimberly Whitehouse (Greg) of Wintersville, Ohio, Brenda Moody of Roundrock, Texas, and Cindy Peeler (David) of Mobile, Ala.; one son, Bruce Virtue (Hazel) of New Cumberland, W.Va.; one brother, Ernest Ray Gambill of Steubenville, Ohio; four sisters, Jewel Moody of Rockport, Texas, Flo Giannamore of Glendale, Calif., Marlene Hood of Wintersville, and Karen Gambill of Steubenville; and eight grandchildren, Jaimee Whitehouse, Alyssa Ray (Malcolm), Ryan Moody, Alexis and Tyler Virtue, and Andrew, Emily and Elise Peeler. Friends received at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Inc., 380 Penco Rd., Weirton, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Chuck Jerman officiating.
