Burgettstown Community Days committee seeks volunteersJune 21, 2009 - From staff reportsBURGETTSTOWN, Pa. - The Burgettstown Community Days Committee is looking for volunteers to operate game booths during the annual event July 10-11. Any type of group, including companies, churches, service groups, social organizations, clubs, graduating classes, neighborhood groups or families, can volunteer at the game booths for one of three shifts, including 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. July 10, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 11 or 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. July 11. Each group operating the booth will have a sign at the booth, and businesses are encouraged to wear shirts with their company name and display business cards or brochures. Groups are asked to supply two volunteers, at least 16 years old or older. The Community Days volunteers set up and tear down the booths, which include such games as duck pond, ring toss, birthday wheels and color wheels. Past volunteers have included National City Bank, Washington Federal Bank, 46th District Rep. Jesse White, Lily's A Flower Boutique, Bad Dogs Restaurant, Party Lite, Curves, Bath & Biscuit and Tastefully Simple. All proceeds from the games go into the Community Days Fund to pay for the entertainment, electricity, stage rental and various other expenses involved.
