9:41 a.m. - Brooke Sheriff’s department seeks missing woman
BEECH BOTTOM - The Brooke County Sheriff's Department is seeking help in finding a 64-year-old woman who was reported missing from the Valley Haven nursing home in Beech Bottom on Friday.
The sheriff's department said Nancy Jean Seals, a Wheeling native, was described as white, just over 5 feet tall and about 130 pounds, with dark brown and gray hair. Staff at the nursing home said she has poor eyesight and difficulty walking and suffers from a mental disorder that causes disorientation if not treated.
The staff said Seals was being visited by a long-time friend, David E. Matthews, 64, of Wheeling, and may have left with him in a 2001 red Chrysler PT Cruiser bearing West Virginia registration DHM 519. Matthews was described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 245 pounds and with graying hair.
The sheriff's department hasn't been able to locate Matthews and asks anyone who has seen him or Seals to call (304) 737-3660 or (304) 527-1430.
