Weir High Class of 1959 celebrates 50th reunionAugust 10, 2009The Weir High School Class of 1959 held its 50th Class Reunion on July 17 and 18 with 81 classmates attending. Class members and their guests met at the Kings Creek Golf Club for an informal get-together on July 17. On July 18 the group shared in a dinner dance at Williams Country Club. Jim Buracchio served as Master of Ceremonies, and Fred Gaston gave the invocation and conducted the memorial ceremony remembering the 48 deceased classmates. The music for dancing was provided by the band "de' ja vu." Special guests were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Fekaris. Georgette Fekaris served as Class Sponsor. Each classmate received a DVD?of the 1959 Prom as their keepsake commemorating the reunion. Classmates traveled to the event from Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Georgia, Florida, California, Maryland, Connecticut, New York, Alaska, Tennessee, Michigan and North Carolina. Members of the planning committee included Edith Barber, Margaret Berry, Mary Ann Dolby, Doreen Gaston, Donna Grant, Linda Heilman, Dreama Jones, Doris Kaufman, Ruth Ann Lamp, Monnie Mack, Sylvia Resnik, Joan Riddle, Marilyn Skidmore, Roxie Sosenko, Karen Tate, Claudia Thompson and Karen Viakely. |
