New City Auto of Weirton is sponsoring the 10th annual All-Women's Golf Challenge to raise funds for the 16 member agencies of the Weirton United Way by donating a silver 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse as a hole in one prize for the tournament.
This morning, officials with the Weirton United Way also announced the tournament has been moved to Sunday because of concerns with the weather.
David Guglielmo of New City Auto located on Pennsylvania Avenue has come to the aid of the United Way for several years.
He said he has donated a vehicle to the benefit of the United Way for the past 10 years, since the inception of the event.
"I am really happy to be able to help the United Way through this tournament," said Guglielmo.
Cheryl Costello, Weirton United Way executive director, stated the United Way is grateful for the support of New City Auto once again.
The four-ladies scramble format will be held on Sunday at Mountaineer's Woodview Golf Course. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
Additional corporate, tee and green sponsorships are still available. Sponsorship levels provide greens fee, cart, continental breakfasts provided by AVI, lunch courtesy of DeFelice Bros. Pizza, beverages and dinner by Dee Jay's.
Susan Mazzocco is this year's tournament director.
