Tate — McKinney
WEIRTON — Amanda Tate and Steven McKinney were united in marriage on Oct. 11, 2008, at Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church with the Revs. Ron Price and Charles Thomas officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Hugh and Tina Tate of New Cumberland. She was escorted to the altar by her father and wore a satin gown featuring a cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of white roses and purple calla lilies.
The groom is the son of Junior and Diana McKinney of Moundsville.
Jennifer Tate of New Cumberland served as her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Janet McKinney of Moundsville, sister of the groom; Chelsea Virden of Weirton, cousin of the bride; and Mindy Howell of Colliers and Stacey Marple of McMechen. The junior bridesmaid was Cierra Wickham of New Cumberland, cousin of the bride.
Corey Young of Glendale was the best man.
Groomsmen were Hugh Tate Jr. of New Cumberland, brother of the bride; and Brad Livingston of Glendale, G.J. Costello of Wheeling and Christopher Tice of New Cumberland. The junior groomsman was Austin Virden of New Cumberland, cousin of the bride.
Cousins of the bride, Alayna Hanek, Bailey Ireland and Juliana Virden were flower girls. Virgil Wickham IV was the ring bearer.
Following a reception at the Serbian American Cultural Center, the couple honeymooned at Disney World.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Oak Glen High School and a 2007 graduate of West Liberty University with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education with specializations in mathematics and general science. She is employed by Hancock County Schools and is pursuing her master’s degree at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
The groom is a 1999 graduate of John Marshall High School and a 2006 graduate of West Liberty University with degrees in business information and computer information systems. He also is a 2008 graduate of Capella University with a master’s degree in information technology. He is employed at Computer Science Corp. in Wheeling.
The couple live in Weirton.
