ECKENRODE, Robert J., 63, of Bergholz, Ohio, died late Saturday evening, October 10 2009, in Trinity Medical Center West, following an extended illness. Born January 30, 1946 in Steubenville, Ohio, he was a son of the late Norbert J. and Grace Kerr Eckenrode. Robert was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by one daughter, Malinda (Tim) Miller of Bergholz; one son, Scott Eckenrode of Yorkville, three grandsons, T.J. Miller, Blade and Kaidun Eckenrode; four granddaughters, Chrystal (Jeff) Day of Carrollton, Chelsea (Leroy) McCourt Deziray, Ella, Eckenrode; three great-grandsons, Levi, Noah, and Braxton; three brothers, Thomas (Margie) Eckenrode of New Philadelphia, James Eckenrode of Clifton Hill and Richard (Brenda) Eckenrode of Bergholz; four sisters, Lois Stafford of San Dioego, Calif., Janet (David) Ciacci of Sarahsville, Noreen Dent of North Port, Fla., Karen (David) Allen of Northport, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, John. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Jack McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the East Springfield Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam.
