Jefferson County 4-H lists activities

Jefferson County 4-H members are selling Savory Sweets cookie dough in a three-pound cube or containers of different types of popcorn for $10. Orders will be taken until Oct. 26 by 4-H members or by calling (740) 264-2212.
Winners in the 4-H club flower bed contest at the Jefferson County Fair are: first place, Country Kids; second, Sunrise Rascals; and third, a tie between Ridge Hoppers and Lassos ‘N’ Lace.
Emily Pizzoferrato, Emily Lamantia and Ben Boyd placed second in the state as a junior groom and clean team.
Azia and Tess Haynes placed as state participants in English equitation and hunter under saddle categories.
A J-Fit Halloween costume party and square dance will be held Oct. 31 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Glenn Mills Community Center, Richmond. Cost is $2 per person. Dan Kirk will host the dance.
Prizes will be given to the funniest, prettiest, scariest and most creative costumes. Refreshments also will be available. Youths attendingwill receive a J-Fit charm.
The Warren Ridge Wranglers 4-H Club will hold a dance for pupils in grades three through six at the Rayland Fire Department Nov. 1 from 4-7 p.m. Cost is $3 and will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Costumes are required, and prizes will be awarded. There will be treats and food.
A J-Fit Rake-a-Thon, “Rake a Difference,” will be held Oct. 24 in conjunction with Make a Difference Day.
Four-H members will rake and bag leaves and take them to Spring Valley Farm, the Corky Saiter farm or the Community Garden in Steubenville. Participants will get a “Rake a Difference” T-shirt and a helping hand bead.
