COOPER, David Leroy, 72, of 25th Street, Wellsburg, W.Va., died October 22, 2009, at home. He was born June 18, 1937, in Wellsburg, W.Va. He was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. with 35 years’ service on the track gang. He was a member of the 1954 WV State Championship Follansbee Blue Wave Football Team. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford L. and Elizabeth Goettel Cooper, and one brother, Charles Cooper. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Lyle Cooper whom he married November 15, 1958; son, Gary and his wife, Connie of Beech Bottom; three daughters, Elizabeth D. Vergitz of Steubenville, Ohio, Dawn Secosky and her husband, John of Orangeburg, S.C., and Patricia Carroll of Wellsburg; and one sister-in-law, Donna Cooper of Follansbee; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation is Friday, October 23, 2009, from 6-9 p.m. at Reasner Funeral Home, 1515 Charles St., Wellsburg, W.Va., where the service is Saturday, October 24, 2009, at 2 p.m. Interment in Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, W.Va. Officiating is Pastor Joy Leasure of Community of Christ Wellsburg, W.Va., and Pastor Aaron Miller of Wellsburg Christian Church, Wellsburg, W.Va.
