JOINS FIRM: Attorney F. Alex Risovich, has joined his father, Fred Risovich II, at Risovich Law Offices in Weirton.
“I am very excited to have my son join our firm,” said Fred Risovich II. “I am pleased he decided to come back to the Northern Panhandle. I look forward to working with my son and instructing him in the practice of law.”
“I am thrilled to return to Weirton and join my father’s firm,” said the younger Risovich. “I have been away from the area for the past eight years, and during that time I realized what I really wanted was to move back to Weirton and practice with my father. I remember my father telling me that one of his biggest regrets in life was not spending more time with his father. I thought about that and realized how fortunate I am to have the opportunity to join his law firm and spend every day working and learning from him. I cannot think of a better way to continue my legal career.”
Risovich received his jurisdoctorate from the West Virginia University School of Law in 2008 and received a bachelor of arts in political science from Marietta College in 2005. While at the WVU School of Law, Risovich was the president of the West Virginia Student Trial Lawyers Association, a member of the Marlyn E. Lugar Trial Association, a student attorney in the Clinical Law Program, a mediator for the Monongalia County Magistrate Court, and a member of the American Society of Law Medicine and Ethics. He also achieved a CALI Award representing the highest grade in his Health Care Law class.
He was admitted to practice before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia in October 2008.
He is a former law clerk for Judge Thomas H. Keadle of the state 26th Judicial Circuit.
