Brooke grand jury indicts 25
By WARREN SCOTT, Staff writerWELLSBURG - A Brooke County grand jury on Monday indicted 25 area residents, including more than a dozen accused of illegal drug activity.
For cases presented by Brooke County assistant prosecutors David F. Cross and William Ihlenfeld II, with 1st Judicial Circuit Court Judge Ronald Wilson presiding, indictments were returned against the following:
Jonathan Barnhart, 22, of Apartment C, 935 Yankee St., Wellsburg, being an accessory before the fact to the robbery of a Wellsburg woman.
Cross said Barnhart assisted Daniel Alley, 21, of Wellsburg, in the robbery of an elderly couple by making a telephone call that caused the husband to leave their Charles Street home on April 12, 2008.
Alley is serving 30 years in jail after being charged with robbery for entering the couple's home while bearing a handgun and demanding pills from the woman.
Joshua Barnhart, 20, of Rear 66 Ninth St., Wellsburg, battery and two counts of malicious assault for striking three men with a baseball bat on July 26, following an ongoing dispute between the three.
William Robert Baehr, 20, of 424 Wilby Lane, Follansbee, delivery of a controlled substance, heroin, and conspiring to deliver.
David Michael Bennett, 51, 815 Market St., Steubenville, sexual abuse and battery for touching a person known to him and grabbing her arm.
John Paul Clever, 26, of 1335 Main St., Wellsburg, delivering a controlled substance, marijuana, within 1,000 feet of a school and possession with intent to deliver.
Wesley Cross, 27, of 820 Fowlers Hill Road, Wellsburg, delivering a controlled substance, vicodin, within 1,000 feet of a school and possession with intent to deliver.
Carey Doll, 51, of 1106 Duval Ave., Wellsburg, daytime entering without breaking, for entering a Ninth Street, Wellsburg, home with the intention of stealing from it, according to the indictment.
Yolanda Elliott, 39, of RD 2, Wellsburg, malicious assault for wounding and causing bodily injury to a woman known to her, according to the indictment.
John Falbo, no age given, of 424 Rockdale Road, Follansbee, for delivering a controlled substance, heroin, and two counts of conspiring to deliver.
Vernon Lee Freshwater, 50, of Supply, N.C., failure to register as a sex offender and notifying the West Virginia State Police he was moving from the state, according to the indictment.
Mallory Fuller Jr., 35, of 330 Ritchie Ave., Weirton, failure to provide child support.
Zachery George, 23, of 168 Leech St., Weirton, forging and uttering a check from another's account.
Matthew Allen Grooms, 19, of 2110 Main St., Wellsburg, delivering a controlled substance, adderall.
Jeremy Daniel Hoit, 23, of 937 Yankee St., Wellsburg, delivering a controlled substance, marijuana, within 1,000 feet of a school.
Charles Holden, 31, of 98 10th Street, Wellsburg, two counts of delivering a controlled substance, oxycodone and hydrocodone.
Marlissa Hudson, no age and address given, two counts of delivering a controlled substance, diazepam and alprazolam.
Pamela Kimble, 37, of 170 Fowlers Hill Road, Wellsburg, five counts of forgery of a credit card.
Krista Lynn Licht, 24, of 1146 Washington Pike, Wellsburg, delivering of and conspiring to deliver a controlled substance, heroin.
Edna Lipscomb, 45, of 3740 Orchard St., Weirton, possession of a controlled substance, methadone, with intent to deliver and delivering it.
Daniel McKitrick, 21, of Brinker Road, Wellsburg, possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and two counts of delivering it.
William Nolan Jr., 22, of RD 1, Wellsburg, one count of domestic violence for allegedly chasing a family member with a samurai sword and four counts of forgery for allegedly writing checks on another person's account, according to the indictment.
Sara Pitman, 48, of 3725 Orchard St., Weirton, possession of a controlled substance, morphine, with intent to deliver.
Christa Roby, no age or address given, possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, with intent to deliver, and three counts of delivering it within 1,000 feet of a school.
Kathy Stewart, 43, of 171 B Genteel Ridge Road, Wellsburg, battery for striking a woman known to her following an ongoing dispute, according to the indictment.
Debra Willis, 36, of 33 Gullette Lane, Weirton, delivery of and conspiring to deliver a controlled substance, heroin.
