Dovec — Weld

WEIRTON - Christine Dovec and Jesse Weld were united in marriage at 2 p.m. June 20 at St. Joseph the Worker Church with the Rev. Dean G. Borgmeyer officiating.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents, John and Patricia Dovec of Weirton. The bride wore an ivory strapless gown and carried a bouquet of pink roses and peonies and green mums.

The groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas and Salee Weld of Elverson, Pa.

Betsy Dovec of Pittsburgh served as her sister's maid of honor. The bridesmaids included Jaime Burns of Morgantown, Pa.; Kendra DeBerry of Fort Worth, Texas; Liz Sobeck of Drexel Hill, Pa.; and Michelle Moryc of New York City.

Russell Burns of Morgantown and Dustin Scott of Fairfax, Va., served as best men. Groomsmen were Zak Roman of State College, Pa., Randy Nolt of Charlottesville, Va., and Scott Ward of West Chester, Pa.

After a reception at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, the newlyweds honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Weir High School, a 2005 graduate of Penn State University and a 2009 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She is an optometrist at Weaver Eye Associates in York, Pa.

The groom is a 1999 graduate of Twin Valley High School, a 2003 graduate of Penn State University and earned a master's degree in elementary education from Wilkes University. He is employed by York Suburban School District as an elementary gifted teacher.

The couple reside in York.
