Wellsburg church honors vets

WELLSBURG - Wellsburg Church of the Nazarene honored active and retired military service personnel at a special service held Nov. 8.

The Young Marines presented colors. State Del. Roy Givens, D-Brooke; and state Sen. Jack Yost, D-Wellsburg; brought greetings.

A list of deceased service personnel was read prior to the playing of taps by Tammy and Jerid Withers.

The congregation sang patriotic songs, including a medley honoring all military branches.

Tom and Kim Lee read quotes from American statesmen about the importance of God in America,. State Del. Tim Ennis, D-Brooke, served as guest speaker.

Each former and current service member was presented a commemorative gift.
