OSU extension Mingo club topic

MINGO JUNCTION — Janine Yeske, director of the Ohio State University Extension Office in Jefferson County, discussed extension services and 4-H programs at the November meeting of the Woman’s Club of Mingo Junction GFWC, OFWC held at the Mingo Senior Citizens Center with Kathleen McCuen presiding.
Cheri Carpico introduced Yeske, who distributed brochures on services provided.
A thank-you was received from Urban Mission.
Cheri Carpico, Halloween parade chairman, reported on the parade. She said it was well- attended, and children were given treat bags and hot dogs, chips, drinks and dessert. The Mingo Police Department and Catholic Central High School marching band led the children through town, and the band then played inside the center. Donations were received from the senior citizens center, St. Agnes Catholic Woman’s Club, Mingo Lions Club, DiCarlos Market, Democrat Woman’s Club and the Knights of Columbus.
The Christmas Party was discussed. It will be held Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the center. The board is in charge of festivities.
Kathy Maguschak distributed See’s Candy flyers to members. Orders are due the Monday after Thanksgiving.
Cheri Carpico gave a report on Christmas gifts for the children-in-need program the club sponsors.
The door prize was won by Shelly Batemen.
Meditation was given by Roetta Lewis. Hostesses for the evening were members of the the Home Life Department. Co-chairmen are Cheri Carpico and Bernie Carpico and Diana Taylor.
