Jerrel awarded memorial scholarship

Jayce Jerrel, a second year Human Services major with a Sign Language Interpreter specialization at West Virginia Northern Community College-Weirton Campus, recently received the Irene Mindzak Memorial Scholarship. The $500 award was presented at a scholarship fundraising dinner held at the college by members of the Mindzak family. Jerrel’s community service played a key role in the awarding of the scholarship, as community service, a reflection of Irene Mindzak herself, was one of the major selection criteria in the awarding of the scholarship. -- Contributed
