Adena Lions to plan minstrel show

ADENA - The dinner meeting of the Adena Lions Club was held at the Harrisville Fire House Auxiliary building with Alva Kinner as dinner chairman.

David Rose of the Harrison County Veterans Services explained benefits available to veterans and their families in Harrison County.

It was announced that seven from the club made a visitation to the St. Clairsville Lions Club at the Mehlman's Cafeteria in January.

An open meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the Lions room to voice ideas for the 2010 minstrel show which carries a television theme and the title "Tube Time - In Living Color."

There will be memories of favorite television shows and commercials.

Those with ideas for a show that fits with this theme can contact Dustin Kinsey, chairman.

A zone meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at Mehlman's Restaurant, according to Karl Bowers, zone chairman. Also noted was the charter night celebration of the Martins Ferry Lions Club Feb. 20 at 5:30 p.m., with a social hour and a dinner to follow at 6:30 p.m. This will take place at the Martins Ferry City Schools complex in the high school cafetorium. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 event and entertainment. Reservations can be directed to Dean Carter at (740) 546-3684.

The Feb. 10 dinner meeting committee consists of Mike Zonkoski, captain; Randy Borkoski and Jim Horton.
