Ray FellowsJanuary 27, 2010FELLOWS, Ray C., 76, of Smithfield, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his family. Ray was born on May 15, 1933, in New Alexandria, son of the late Donald and Dottie (Ruckman) Fellows. Ray was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Smithfield; he was a former oiler on the dragline at Ohio Coal and a former manager of the Bank in Smithfield. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and he served his country aboard the U.S.S. J.P. Kennedy Naval Destroyer during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mae (Carouthers) Fellows; infant son, Mark Edward; and brothers, Edward and Harold Fellows. Ray is survived by his best friend, Rambo Rafael; his daughter, Susan (Scott) Crabtree of Cincinnati; two sons, Mitchell (Jill) Fellows of Thornville, Ohio, and Edward "Chip" (Cici) Fellows of New Albany, Ohio; six stepchildren, Patsy (John) Miller of Toronto, Ohio, Terry (Mary) Wilson of Smithfield, Ricky (Debbie) Wilson of Weems, Ohio, Chuck (Donna) Wilson of Toronto, Earl (Michelle) Wilson of Toronto, and Barbara (Robert) Reynard of Smithfield. Ray is also survived by his six grandchildren, 16 stepgrandchildren and 10 great-stepgrandchildren. Visitation for Ray will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, Ohio where Ray's funeral service will be held on Friday at noon with the Rev. Darrin Jones officiating. Burial will follow in New Alexandria Cemetery in New Alexandria, Ohio, with full military graveside honors provided by the Piney Fork American Legion Post 735.
