WEIRTON - The Weir High School Class of 1958 will hold their monthly dinner get together at 6 p.m. Thursday at Gio's Restaurant.

Library to host book signing
WEIRTON - Thomas Zielinsky will sign copies of his book, "The Final Days of Weirton Steel: Could the Collapse Have Been Prevented?" at 6 p.m. Thursday at Mary H. Weir Public Library's activity room.
Zielinsky held a number of different management positions at Weirton Steel, including Information Technology Department director.
Fall Riverfest to be held
NEW CUMBERLAND - The New Cumberland Fall Riverfest will be held Saturday and Sunday.
The event will include entertainment, food, crafts, a paddlewheeler, boat parade, corn hole contest, art show and fireworks Saturday evening.
Groups and individuals performing include Out of the Blue, Adrian Niles, Legend, Lonesome Heart, Tom Zielinski, Michele's Dance Studio, Salt N Pepper, Barbershop Quartet, clowns and jugglers.
Arts Council hosts Riverfest show
WEIRTON - The Hancock County Arts Council met Sept. 16 with 10 members present.
Members discussed the art show which will be held New Cumberland Fall Riverfest Saturday and Sunday. Local artists are encouraged to bring artwork of any medium to the show tent for display during the Riverfest. Those wanting to participate should bring their work between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Saturday and pick it up by 7 p.m. Saturday. On Sunday, work should be dropped off before noon.
The committee also discussed the Holiday Home Tour scheduled for Nov. 20. Tickets for the 10 home/church tour will be on sale at the Convention and Visitors Bureau in Weirton.
Library to screen 'Letters'
WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Public Library will be showing the PG-rated film "Letters to Juliet," starring Amanda Seyfried and Vanessa Redgrave, Monday at 1 p.m.
An American girl discovers a love letter that changes her life in the romantic comedy, which is set in Verona, Italy. Call (304) 737-1551 to reserve a seat and popcorn.
Church to hold dinner
WEIRTON - St. Thomas Episcopal Church, located on Three Springs Drive, is having a stuffed pepper dinner from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 29.
The cost is $6 for a dinner that includes two stuffed peppers, mashed potatoes and a choice of applesauce or cottage cheese. Take out is available. Peppers only for take out is $2 each. No orders will be taken before Sept. 29.

Church Women United to meet
PARIS, Pa. - The Executive Board of Church Women United will meet at 10 a.m. Oct. 1 at Paris Presbyterian Church, located at 127 Steubenville Pike.
All third-year delegates are urged to attend to plan World Community Day service with Chair Eloise Evans. President Carol Village will preside.
Blue grass show to benefit Lions
WEIRTON - A bluegrass show to benefit the Weirton Lions club community projects will be held at 3 p.m. Oct. 2 at Starvaggi Park, 135 Starvaggi Drive.
Bands include Remington Ryde, Lonesome Heart and Awesome Possum. Admission is $12 and children under 12 and accompanied by an adult will be admitted free.
Food will be available. Those attending are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. The event is sponsored by First Choice America Credit Union, Summit Physical Therapy and Robinson and Son Construction.
