WINTERSVILLE - Bob and Joan Davis of Wintersville were married 60 years on Saturday. A family dinner and celebration were hosted by their children.
The couple were married on March 5, 1951, at the LaBelle Methodist Church in Steubenville.
He is the son of the late Clarence and Loretta Davis. He served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Coral Sea, and he retired in 1994 after 44 years with Weirton Steel Corp.
She is the daughter of the late Melda Strickling and Ed McDonald.
They are the parents of four daughters and two sons: Cheryl Purvis of Appling, Ga.; twins Richard of Toronto and Karen Anthony of Mingo Junction; Nancy Rupert of Wintersville; and twins Thomas of El Reno, Okla., and Linda Davis Rupert of Mingo Junction. They have nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
