Lending a hand

Madonna High School students and alumni chaperones recently returned from their 15th annual Lend-a-Hand for Appalachia trip to West Virginia’s southern coalfields region. The volunteers helped three families by replacing a roof, repairing siding, building porches and installing drywall and flooring. Sponsors paid for 90 percent of building materials and supplies used. Those student participating included, from left, front, Nick Nero, Alan Green, Katie Kramer, Mariah Mott, Kaitlin McGaughey, Libby McFadden, Josh Martin, Jessica Hensley and Courtney Brown, and, back, Joey Capito, Tony Marino, Kirk Holmes, Dustin Parr, Amy Davis, Julia Castellucci, Sara Lyons, Nathan Nero, Nick Longhi, Quintin Hukill, Eliott Nero, Travis Brown, Jimmy Deter, Nathan Guio and Justin Kendrick.
