WEIRTON - There soon will be a new option for those looking to improve their health and fitness levels.
A new Anytime Fitness will be opening in Weirton in the coming weeks, providing area residents a chance to get in a workout at any time of day.
"We're a 24-hour gym," owner Arieh Ordronneau explained of the new facility to be located at 218 Park Drive near the Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Although Anytime Fitness is a nationwide company, with approximately 1,700 locations in the country, Ordronneau explained they focus on providing a smaller club feel while providing everything customers would find in the "big box" franchises.
"We try to appeal to the average folks looking to get in shape," he said.
Ordronneau also is the owner of any Anytime Fitness which opened two years ago in the Hollywood City Center in Steubenville.
"It's quite a bit similar to our Steubenville location," he said.
The Weirton location will be approximately 5,200 square feet when completed, as compared to the 4,000-square-foot facility in Steubenville. Another difference is the type of equipment. While Ordronneau said there will be similar types of equipment available to patrons, Steubenville's location has Precor fitness equipment while the Weirton location is planned to feature items from Light Fitness.
"Because the clubs are so close, I wanted to offer some variety," he said.
Plans for the Weirton Anytime Fitness include a section of cardio equipment near the front, with strength-training equipment near the center of the building. There also will be a section with four restrooms and locker rooms. Ordronneau said he also is working on the possibility of a tanning facility.
One of the big features of the Anytime Fitness clubs is Fitness on Request.
Ordronneau explained Fitness on Request allows members to take a variety of fitness classes, whether you are by yourself or with a group, and it's all available through operation of a touch-screen system.
"It has about 50 different classes on it," he said. "You could be here at 2 a.m. and be taking a kickboxing class."
In addition to all this, as part of the Anytime Fitness family of franchises, once a resident signs up to become a member at the Weirton club, they can use that membership at any of the company's locations, whether they are in the Ohio Valley, New England or the Pacific Northwest.
Ordronneau explained the new Weirton location for Anytime Fitness should be open for business sometime later this month.
