Mingo Junction man arrested for threat
MINGO JUNCTION - A village man is housed in the Jefferson County jail on pending charges today after allegedly making threats to a caseworker at Jefferson County Job and Family Services.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, Anthony Blancato, 39 of 771 Commercial St., Mingo Junction, was arrested Tuesday after threatening to kill everyone at the agency with a gun, according to reports.
Sheriff's deputies were notified and responded to the call, while Mingo Junction Police responded to the residence. At first the suspect wouldn't answer the door, but he eventually was arrested on a pending charge of aggravated menacing, according to reports. The suspect was upset over a custody dispute.
Charges are expected to be filed today by the Jefferson County prosecutor.
School board calls special meeting
WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday to address unfinished personnel matters from Monday's meeting.
The meeting will be held at the board office, 1201 Pleasant Ave.
