Spring arrives at the mall

STEUBENVILLE - Spring arrives at the Fort Steuben Mall on Saturday, kicking off a series of free activities, a craft show and a visit by the Easter Bunny.

A flowerpot decorating and flower planting project will be offered at center court beginning at 11 a.m. Sponsored by JB Green Team's "Plant Pride, Not Litter" program, the first 100 kids to show through 1:30 p.m. will receive a free flowerpot to decorate.

The mall also will host the American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. near Country Crafts from the Heart. The group will be be selling their exclusive Boyd's Bear "Shar N. Hope" as well as bunches of daffodils, pots, vases and more.

Kurt James Fun & Games will be on hand from noon to 4 p.m. with free bounce houses for the kids.

Specialty craft vendors will sell their wares throughout the mall starting Friday through March 25. To reserve a space, call (740) 264-2996.

The Easter Bunny arrives at the mall at 2 p.m. Saturday and will be available weekdays from noon to 8 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends through April 7. Pet photos with the Easter Bunny will be taken from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 29.

The mall also is hosting an Easter egg hunt Monday through April 6. Participants will have to locate 10 Easter eggs, each marked with a letter, then unscramble the 10-letter Easter word for a chance to win one of nine $50 mall gift cards. Entry forms are available at customer service. After all 10 eggs are located, users must unscramble the word, then drop off their competed entry at customer service. Winners will be chosen at random on Tuesday, Friday and April 6.
