Follansbee All School
WINTERSVILLE, Ohio - The third annual Follansbee High School All-School reunion will be held Aug. 11 at St. Florian Hall.
Reservations must be made by July 11 by calling Bessie Burton Eddy at (304) 527-1177.
This year will mark the 100th anniversary of the first graduating class of 1912, which had 10 members.
The last class to graduate was the Class of 1969, which had 252 members.
The former high school is now Follansbee Middle School.
The Reunion Committee is headed up by Norma Thomaselli Henson, Class of 1954; and Mary Ann Boyd Thorn, Class of 1951.
The committee also includes Eddy, Class of 1939; Mary Margaret Brandt Conley, Class of 1943; Antonette Iafrate Wilkerson and Loretto "88" Iafrate, Class of 1946; Dora DiEugene Notni and Sophie Gesheff Sanders, Class of 1947; Betty DiGennero Bailey, Class of 1950; Dorothy Finley Deters and Nada Gesheff Todd, Class of 1951; Edward DiPino, Class of 1953; Sylvvia DiPino, Class of 1954; Helen Gesheff Nicodemus and Janet Kocher Formis, Class of 1955; Joan Batson Roberts and Katherine Kimmel Oughton, Class of 1957; Judy Vickers-Bowman, Class of 1961; Beverly Mason Kromer and Michelle Valero Amasmier, Class of 1962; Helen Valero McClung and Russell Dunlevy, Class of 1963; and Joyce DeStefano and Charlie Banfi, Class of 1969.
Those Follansbee High graduates who haven't received information about the reunion are asked to call any committee member or to contact Eddy at (304) 527-1177.
Weir Class of 1951
WEIRTON - Weir High School Class of 1951 members met April 19 at the Three Springs Drive Eat'n Park, with Chair Dorothy Veselich Herkle presiding.
Members discussed the 62nd class reunion, suggesting that the event be held August 2013 and be a sit-down dinner.
Members also discussed entertainment and venues.
Herkle appointed the following to committees: Betty Bosko and Ornell Bauman Meador, name tags; Gloria Zimin Hartman, letters to classmates; Paul and Jeannie DiGregorio Duffy; menu and venue; and Paul Duffy and Don Mentzer, master of ceremonies. Dolores Fijewski Szymanski was appointed treasurer.
Shirley Lowe Davis, Harry Chorpenning, Margaret Gerbo Pulice, Jim and Patti Stephenson Bryan, Marion Selmon Barish, Betty Lengyl Hill and Karen and Dick Loeffler also attended the reunion planning meeting.
