Hancock County officials are beginning the process of planning for a new complex which will house several county departments, including the Office of Emergency Management and 911 dispatch.
While it is still a long way away, we believe this new complex will be a terrific asset to the county as it will provide additional space for many of these departments, while also alleviating some of the space issues at the Hancock County Courthouse.
County officials have been talking about the need for additional space for years and this will be a big help once complete.
Current plans are to locate the new building along state Route 2 near the John D. Rockefeller Career Center just north of New Cumberland.
We thank the Hancock County Commission and all other officials involved in this project for beginning the process and are hopeful of what it can do for the county and its residents for years to come.
