CLARK, William S. "Bill", 86, of Steubenville, Ohio, died Monday, June 4, 2012, at Heritage Place, Weirton, W.Va.
He was born Jan. 22, 1926, in Steubenville, the son of the late Wooster anf Mae Crawford Clark.
He was a Wintersville High School graduate and attended The Ohio State University where he played basketball. He was the retired owner of Star Vulcanizing and a retired Century 21 realtor.
Bill was a member of Starkdale Presbyterian Church and V.F.W. He was an Army Air Corps tail gunner during World War II. Bill was a referee for many local basketball and football games. Spending the winters in Florida for over 20 years, Bill worked part- time for Disney.
Preceding Bill in death were his first wife, Claire Clark in 1981; sister, Betty Ferguson, stepgrandson, George Spillers, Jr. and step great-granddaughter, Alexandria Jabo.
Bill is survived by his wife, Betty E. Cole Clark; children, Linda (Mark) Lewis and William B. Clark; four grandchildren; stepchildren, Nancy Marie (George) Spillers, Sr., Sandra Kay Snodgrass, Michael Scot Ruthem and Donald Russell (Lisa) Ruthem; 11 step-grandchildren and 20 step-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, on Wednesday 4-6 p.m. On Thursday, friends may call at Starkdale Church from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Burial at Union Cemetery.
