GODDARD, Mary E., 76, of Rayland, OH (Plum Run), passed away Monday, June 25, 2012 in the Carriage Inn of Steubenville.
Mary was born February 8, 1936 in Mingo Junction, OH, daughter of the late Tilton and Grace (Norris) Bell.
Mary retired as head cook for the C.A.C. of Steubenville. She was a foster parent and operated a home for MRDDs. She operated as a florist, was active in 4-H and was a former member of the Lioness Club. Mary was known by many for her homemade apple butter.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Gail E. Goddard, in 1979; and by her two brothers, Wayne Bell III and Bernard Bell.
Surviving are her two daughters, Cindy (David) Ciafardone of Mingo Junction, OH, and Tracy Goddard of Smithfield, OH; a step-daughter, Dorothy Jean Rhoads of Lodi, OH; and foster daughter Marie Fleming of Wooster, OH; and six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Rose Bell of Plum Run.
Visitation for Mary will be held on Friday, June 29 from 4-8 p.m. at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home Inc., 107 Hill St., Smithfield, OH, where services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. Pastor Roger Wayne will provide her service and burial will follow in New Alexandria Cemetery.
Following the committal service at the cemetery, family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the Plum Run Christian Union Church Hall.
