WEIRTON - The Tri-State Medical Group will hold its annual health fair, co-sponsored by CHANGE Inc. and DaVita Inc., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Serbian American Cultural Center on Colliers Way.
Admission is free.
"This year's health fair is expanded as we have joined forces with CHANGE Inc. and DaVita to provide an affordable comprehensive blood screen which includes a kidney function analysis," said JJ Bernabei, Tri State Medical Group pharmacist. "CHANGE Inc. has resources to analyze blood and DaVita specializes in kidney dialysis. We are excited about partnering with them to provide these additional valuable screens, as well as our usual free screenings for our 2012 health fair."

The following free health screenings will be available: cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, glaucoma, podiatry, wellness, bone density, sleep apnea, oxygen saturation and hearing. Information will be provided on long-term acute care, women's health, orthopedics, home health care.
An optional blood screen, including a lipid panel, complete blood count, TSH or PSA, complete metabolic panel, urinalysis and microalbumin/BUN/creatinine, is available for $40. It requires a 12-hour fast. Also, those attending the health fair may receive an optional EKG or 3-D fetal ultrasound for $5.
Screenings may indicate conditions that may be followed up with a physician, said Bernabei.
The event will include refreshments, door prizes and a children's area.
