CARISSIMI, Flora J., 79, of Steubenville, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at home.
She was born Oct. 15, 1932, in Belmonte, Calabro, Italy.
She is a daughter of the late Saverio and Angela Magnone Travaglino. Flora is also preceded in death by two brothers, Egidio and Albert Travaglino, and one sister, Idora Provenzano.
Surviving are her husband, Anthony "Tony" Carissimi, whom she married April 23, 1960; one brother, Settimio "Sam" (Erminia) Travaglino of Sewickley, and one sister, Ida Marano of Italy, nephews, Ben (Linda) Provenzano, James Provenzano, Ferruccio (Kris) Provenzano, Alfred (Barbara) Provenzano, Albert (Gail) Provenzano, Sam "Sammy" (Christine) Travaglino, Robert (Arlene) Travaglino, nieces, Rhonda (David) Parda and Saundra Travaglino.
Flora was a retired seamstress and a member of Triumph of the Cross Catholic Church, the Gadabouts, Four Seasons, and the Italian American Culture Club. Calling hours are Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Bradley Greer as celebrant. There will be a vigil service at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
