NEW CUMBERLAND - The Hancock County Sheriff's Department announced Friday that K-9 Rudie has died.
Rudie began serving with the sheriff's office in 2003 as the partner of Deputy Scott Gittings. Rudie retired earlier this year.
Officials will hold a memorial service for Rudie at noon Monday in Courtroom 1 of the Hancock County Courthouse.
Anyone wishing to attend the service to pay their respects for Rudie, or to Deputy Gittings and his family, may attend.
