To the editor:
Have you been reading the Herald-Star about council meetings in Mingo Junction?
Council agreed to meet with the revitalization committee to try to buy the old Mingo High School.
Isn't this ridiculous when the money situation is so bad in Mingo? They want to close the senior center because it is $539 in the red. This figure came up at the meeting.
Some of the officials promised in their campaigns the center would never be closed as a way to get more votes and now are backing down from the promise.
I suggested that members of council and the service director take a pay cut. There was no comment.
Senior citizens of Mingo Junction, go to the meeting and voice your opinion.
