STEUBENVILLE - The Franciscan University of Steubenville volleyball team snapped its six game losing skid with a 19-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-12 victory over the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg Wednesday at the Finnegan Fieldhouse.
The Barons are 6-9 overall and 1-2 inside the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.
"Everybody was playing so well today," head coach Kelly Herrmann said. "They were just on. All of our hitters, especially Maria Prezzia, smashed the ball. Against good teams, you have to hit hard to win."

Prezzia had a team-high 13 kills. She also added 18 digs.
Sam Kelly also had a standout game. In addition to her team-high 28 digs, she recorded six aces.
"Serving is her strength," Herrmann said of Kelly. "They couldn't handle her. She can move the ball around. It's so important to serve to the other teams weak spot."
Lara Holley returned from injury and, although not at 100 percent, according to Herrmann, collected 14 assists. Captain Anna Cain contributed 10 kills.
"It just felt so good to get that win. We have been struggling," Herrmann said. "If our girls hit and move like they did tonight, we could win the conference. Hands down."
The Lady Barons visit the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford Saturday.
