Team effort to raise cancer awareness

October 16, 2012
Weirton Daily Times
The Oak Glen High School girls soccer team has been working to raise money and awareness of breast cancer through the American Cancer Society’s Coaches versus Cancer program. The team held awareness programs and fundraisers at home and school, as well as taking collections during recent home games. The team also has been wearing pink uniforms during their October games. In collaboration with the American Cancer Society, the initiative, called “Kick For The Cure, Oak Glen Soccer,” reminds women 40 and older about the importance of having an annual mammogram. -- Contributed
