Tusky Valley ends Crusaders’ season

URICHSVILLE - The Steubenville Catholic Central volleyball team fell to Tusky Valley 25-12, 25-13, 25-15 in the Ohio Division III Sectional finals Saturday.

Rachel Antonelli had three points, Monica Rigaud two kills and two blocks, Taylor Bednar two blocks, Rachel Rigaud one block, Jenna Ogden two points, Monica Fischer one kill, Robyn Runkel 35 assists and three points, Kamy Belardine one point, Tori Knight one spike, and Maddy Gulan three kills, four blocks, two aces, and 10 points.

ZANESVILLE - The Steubenville Catholic Central boys soccer team fell 5-0 to Hiland in the Ohio Division II District Semifinal at Maysville High School.

Oak Glen sweeps quad

NEW CUMBERLAND - The Oak Glen volleyball team swept a quad-match against East Fairmont, Fairmont Senior, Weir, and North Marion.

The Lady Bears defeated East Fairmont 25-9, 25-12.

Sydney Kell had seven points, 12 assists, and two blocks with Vanessa Hissam adding four points, six kills, and two digs; Morgan Poling seven points, five kills, and two digs; Lacee Porter four points, five kills, and two digs; Abby Tice two digs; Jessica Stivason four kills; Jessica Hutton four points; Kaitlyn Smith 11 points and four aces; Carissa Williams two assists; and Madison Juszczak one kill.

Fairmont Senior was dispatched by Oak Glen 25-7, 25-5.

Kell had 10 points, 13 assists, and two digs; Hissam had 10 kills and two digs; Poling had three points, three kills, and three digs; Porter had three kills; Tice had four points and eight digs; Stivason had five kills; Hutton had 13 points; Williams had one assist; and Juszczak had eight points and two assists.

The Golden Bears then stopped Weir 25-7, 25-10.

Kell had two points and 19 assists; Hissam had eight kills; Poling had 18 points, five kills, and three digs; Porter had five kills; Tice had five points and nine digs; Stivason had nine kills and three blocks; Hutton had three points and two kills; Smith had eight points and two digs; Williams had three assists; and Juszczak had two points.

In its fourth match of the day, Oak Glen beat North Marion 25-5, 25-10.

Kell had four points and nine assists; Hissam had two kills; Poling had 14 points and nine kills; Porter had 10 kills, two aces, and four kills; Tice had four digs; Stivason had three kills; Hutton had six points and two aces; Smith had three points; and Juszczak had one kill and one assist.
