City making a difference

City workers and department heads in Weirton on Friday collected canned goods and non-perishables for the Salvation Army's Make A Difference food drive, which continues today with a collection center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Weirton Shop'n Save. Already, 350 families in Brooke and Hancock counties have signed up for food baskets for the upcoming holidays. Additional signups will be held at Army headquarters Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Weirton and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wellsburg location. -- Linda Harris
