WEIRTON - Marg DiClemente, a Weirton resident, has been named the 2012 West Virginia Hospital Association Volunteer of the Year.

DiClemente has been a Weirton Medical Center auxiliary member for more than 40 years, and has contributed 10,288 hours of volunteer work. She is, most recently, working on the medical center's Skilled Care floor, where she visits with patients, sings to them and leads sing-a-longs in the activity room three times a week.

During the holidays, DiClemente bakes cookies for the patients. DiClemente has been a volunteer with the medical center's auxiliary since the early 1970s, and she has worked throughout the hospital, including 22 years with the gift cart. She also served as the auxiliary president in 1978-1979. For the past 25 years, she has been working on the Skilled Care floor.
