TORONTO - Maria Denise Wallace and Eric Michael Chir were married at 3 p.m. on Sept. 8 during a ceremony at St. Mary of the Mount Church officiated by the Rev. Michael Stumpf.
The bride is the daughter of Richard Wallace of Toronto and the late Catherine Wallace. The groom is the son of Michael and Diana Chir of Clairton, Pa.
Escorted to the altar by her uncle, Vince Manini Sr., the bride wore a lace, slim line gown detailed by a high mandarin neckline with a flared, scalloped edging train. She carried a European hand-tied bouquet of calla lilies, freesia and fresh lavender.

Amanda Wallace of Wintersville, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Laura Chir, sister of the groom; Lisa Manini, cousin of the bride; Ashley Lorenzi, cousin of the bride; Nicole Alexander; and Lauren Manini, cousin of the bride. Gianna Machi, goddaughter of the groom, and Meghan Manini, goddaughter and cousin of the bride, served as flower girls.
Brandon Machi of Jefferson Hills, Pa., served as best man. Groomsmen included James Artman; Vince Manini Jr., cousin of the bride; Don Angel; and Joe Valentino.
A reception followed at the Sokol Slovak Club in Pittsburgh's Southside. The couple honeymooned in Rome, Italy.
The bride is a 1992 graduate of Wintersville High School and a 1997 graduate of Kent State University with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. She is employed by Bidwell Training Center and is the owner of Personal Meals catering.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of Clairton High School and a 2000 graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor of science degree in marketing. The groom received his juris doctorate in 2007 from Duquesne University School of Law and is an attorney with Reed Smith in Pittsburgh.
The couple reside in Pittsburgh's Mount Washington neighborhood.
