Businesses competewith holiday displays

CADIZ - Cadiz businesses will compete for best holiday decorations during a special contest sponsored by the Cadiz Business Association.

There will be two areas judged in the uptown central business district, located two blocks in each direction of the town square; and outlying business areas, outside the uptown central business district, within a three-mile radius.

Cash prizes will be awarded for first and second place winners for uptown flat window, uptown store front/display and outlying area display.

To ensure being judged, businesses in the outlying area should call the Cadiz/Harrison County Visitors Center at (740) 942-1102 and confirm their participation. Decorations should be in place no later than Nov. Wednesday. Winners will be announced and cash prizes will be awarded in each category during the Cadiz Lighted Christmas Parade on Dec. 1.
