MINGO JUNCTION - The Jefferson County Township Association's 45th-annual Raymond C. Amoroso Christmas dinner and awards banquet will be held Saturday at the Mingo Knights of Columbus Hall.
The social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with an open bar, followed by a seven-course dinner served at 6:30 p.m.
In addition to post-dinner entertainment, the evening will include the surprise presentations of the Township Official of the Year award and the Government Official of the Year award.
Officers of the association include Lou Vandeborne, president; Dan Stone, vice president; Terry Bell, secretary-treasurer; and Scott Fabian, executive delegate.

An associate membership in the association is $10, which includes receipt of the state township association magazine and participation in the association's four functions: a corn roast, a fish fry, the Christmas banquet and the annual meeting.
The annual Christmas dinner and awards banquet is named in memory of Raymond C, Amoroso, a Smithfield township trustee who started the event.
The townships included in the association are Salem, Island Creek, Cross Creek, Brush Creek, Saline, Mount Pleasant, Smithfield, Steubenville, Wells, Warren, Wayne, Knox, Springfield and Ross.
