'Golden girls'

hold meeting

The November meeting of the "Golden Girls," formerly known as the Trinity Saint Jude Guild, was held Nov. 6 at the Mei Garden Restaurant.

Adrianna Marangoni was the hostess.

After the meeting and lunch, 500 bid was played with first prize awarded to Eleanor DeLoretta; second prize went to Tina Wells; and third prize was won by Vel Della Penna, a guest.

Marcella Wells took home the booby prize.

The annual Christmas party and gift exchange will be held Dec. 6 at the Steubenville Country Club.

Wells will serve as hostess.

YWCA bazaar

is postponed

The YWCA Bazaar scheduled for Dec. 13 has been postponed.

JUHS class plans

reunion meeting

Members of the Jefferson Union High School Class of 1958 are invited to the organizational meeting for their 55-year reunion.

It will be held at noon on Dec. 3 in the community room of Eat N' Park restaurant in Steubenville.

Three Score

Seniors meet

The Three Score Seniors met Nov. 15 at Undo's at Holiday Inn - Weirton.

President Barbara Purks welcomed members and guests and introduced Pat Deletka, who gave the invocation.

After dinner, Vice President Larry Purks introduced the Casey Sisters Dance groups, who entertained with dance routines and solos.

Membership Chair Josie Elliott reported 116 members paid 2013 dues in October, and the remainder have until the end of December to pay dues.

Sunshine Chair Winnie Kemp reported on cards sent and received.

Birthdays and anniversaries were acknowledged.

Reservation Chair Vivian Weigel announced 128 members and three guests, Ann Madden, Gloria Suchka and Rena Molson, were in attendance.

Regina Truax announced the following tours:

-- Dec. 5, Christmas Spectacular, Wexford, Pa.;

-- Dec. 7, Doo-Wop concert at CONSOL Energy Center, Pittsburgh; and

-- April 11, Branson's Ozark Jubilee in Greensburg, Pa.

Hospitality Chair Jim Hare awarded prizes to John Fields, Ida Haynes, Joann Gorell, Jack Cummings and Mary Ann Elliott. Audrey Phillips and Irene Canala won dinners, compliments of Undo's. Mary Lou McKinley and Marge Serafine received Thanksgiving-themed prizes. Carol Irvine and Grace Lenhart won the 50/25/25.

The next meeting will be held a week early on Dec. 20 because of the Christmas holiday.

Deletka gave the benediction.

group to meet

The Steubenville High School Alumni Association will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Dec. 4 at Scaffidi's Restaurant.
