STINSON, LaMarr "Lem", 72, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012.
He was born June 22, 1940, in Enterprise, AL son of the late Will C. and Katie (Frazier) Stinson.
After serving in the U.S. Army, LaMarr moved to Waterbury, CT. "Lem" as he was affectionately called was known to be a kind person with a "big heart" that would give his last to help others. He was recently recognized for his contributions and efforts on behalf of the Pearl Street Summer Basketball League. He was a passionate advocate for the importance of youth sports and its role in the community.
LaMarr Stinson is survived by his son, LaMarr Stinson Jr. (Shawna), stepdaughter, Joanne Reynolds, and stepson, John V. Reynolds. He is also survived by three brothers Willie (WV), Leon, Floyd (OH) and companion Pearl Byrd. In addition he leaves behind two grand-daughters and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved dearly.
Following his memorial service in Connecticut there will be a homegoing service Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Second Chance Ministries, 255 South 3rd St., Steubenville, OH family/friend showing at 10 with homegoing service following at 11 a.m., Elder Mark Gilliam officiating. He will be placed to rest at Union Cemetery, 1720 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, OH.
