To the editor:
As we go through life, we meet so many people who change our perspective and make a difference.
While working at Martha Manor, I must say that my life has been enriched and I have learned so much from the residents and the people who have either volunteered time or were a part of this nonprofit facility.
One person who really made a difference was Barbara Florak. Florak became the president of our board and from that day on she dedicated herself to the manor. When I called her for assistance, she never turned me down, and she would assist me with whatever the problem.
In the last months of her life, she never stopped being there for me or our residents. On the day she was on her way to the hospital with a life-threatening issue, she called the manor and was concerned about the signing of checks and holiday treats for the residents. Within two days she had passed away.
I can never forget this woman. She was the most caring and unselfish person I have ever met. She will be missed, and she made a difference.
