The Oak Glen Middle School Math Club’s sixth-graders recently participated in a Mathematical Olympiad competition. This is the first year for the club, which includes approximately 60 fifth- and sixth-graders. The pupils will participate in competitions at the school and travel once or twice to tournaments once or twice this academic year. The purpose is to build student appreciation for math and strengthen academic skills. Velda Icard, Peggy Patterson and Stephanie Tinger are sponsors. -- Contributed
