Four Seasons holds meeting

WEIRTON - The Four Seasons Senior Citizens Association met Dec. 13 at the Serbian American Cultural Center located on Colliers Way.

First Vice President Angela Gillette presided and gave the invocation. Members recited the Pledge of Allegiance and sang "God Bless America."

Gillette welcomed Janna Barney, daughter and guest of John Prebeg.

After dinner, vocalist and guitarist Chuck Lucas entertained with original arrangements of traditional songs and Christmas music.

The secretary read the minutes of November meeting, and Assistant Treasurer Rose Mark gave her report.

Reservation Chair Josie Cekinovich reported 118 reservations and gave the January menu.

Members recognized December birthdays of Rose Mark, Barbara Libengood and Lou Torchio. Marge Trinone sent get-well cards to Mary Reszke, Joyce Dobbs, Dolores Troia, Martha Vidas and Lil Douglas.

Membership Chair Ruth Ladomersky reported 161 members.

Gillette reported membership dues must be paid to Ruth Ladomersky, and can be sent to her attention at 321 Culler Road, Weirton, WV 26062 by Dec. 31. She also announced Carolyn Shaffer would fill the office of treasurer.

Carol Valenti installed the following officers: President Norma Yoho, First Vice President Roberta Burnette, Second Vice President Chris Sklenar, Secretary Tom Maxwell, Treasurer Carolyn Shaffer, Chaplin Mary Rose Spano and Historian Jane Barney.

John Geary was awarded the free dinner from the club. Jim Orler and Chris Gillette won the 50/50 drawing. Beverly DiBiase, Chris Barker, Chris Sklenar, Nick Rodreguez, Barbara Cerra, Norma Yoho, Ron Fallert, Fran Wenzel and Stef Iannetti were awarded Iannetti's Garden Center poinsettias.

Gillette surveyed the membership to determine a preference of buffet dinner to sit down. Most members preferred having dinner served.

The next meeting will be held Jan. 16. Following the closing prayer, Gillette adjourned the meeting. Members enjoyed cards and bingo after the meeting.
