To the editor:
We have been a strong independent country for over two centuries.
We have always recognized there are a few among us who are not capable of caring for themselves and the rest of us must pull the wagon.
Now the numbers in the wagon are increasing due to illegal immigration, lucrative government welfare programs, fraudulent compensation claims, unlimited unemployment, unchecked public sector unions and all the other government handouts.
Many who are still pulling the wagon think maybe I should stop pulling and get in the wagon, it's much better in the wagon and at the end of the year the government will send me a nonearned income tax return check and a free cell phone with unlimited usage.
Now instead of President Obama saying, "I really want to thank everyone for pulling the wagon," he says, "The people pulling the wagon are greedy, selfish, materialistic, and those in the wagon are good and they deserve more."
We already have more in the wagon than pulling the wagon.
Nearly half of American tax filers will pay no federal income taxes this year, according to data released by the Tax Policy Center. Some 76 million tax filers, or 46.4 percent of the total, will be exempt from federal income tax in 2011.
The first revolution was due to taxation without equal representation.
The next revolution will be due to representation without taxation.
Many in government have been well groomed by the leaders of cultural Marxism and are well on their way to destroying America's greatness.
Instead of the government reducing spending, what do you think will be the first loopholes closed? Charitable donations? Why?
